Legendary Man of The Sea

...Yeah, I figured it's been a long enough wait. For those of you familiar with the Darkbreaker and his Castle Eterna, this is the first of the pictures featuring the various members of his staff within the Castle, those people who have, for whatever reason, abandoned their worlds and former lives to follow him here, beyond the reach of space and time.

The first off, is the man who serves as the Darkbreaker's official naval and ship-to-ship combat expert.

He is the single most infamous seafaring captain of all time. Once, he cursed the gods, and in return, they cursed him to an eternal life of undeath, forever bound to his ship, to haunt the seas for all time. His skin dried and mummified by centuries of salt and sea spray, he is more of a walking skeleton than a man, held together by his eternally preserved admiral's coat, and the brilliantly blazing Saint Elmo's fire that rages across his bones and throughout his empty body.

Once a man, he is now closer to a lich than anything else.

For those of you who still do not know this man's name, or wonder what I mean by 'the most infamous Captain of them all' I do not mean Blackbeard, or any other famous pirate of legend, or Sir Francis Drake, or Christopher Columbus, or any other famous historical figure like that.

No, this man is far older, and with a far darker mark in myths and legends than in actual history.

His ship itself, bound to him by the very gods, has ascended, now no longer a mere vessel of iron and wood, but has become a very concept in and of itself, it's name forever associated with the darker ghosts, and the legends of the open, empty sea.

His name, is Hendrick.

And his ship is the terrifying man o'war that charges through the mists, it's masts and rigging alight with the same inhuman green flame that burns in its master: The legendary Flying Dutchman.

Enemies of the Darkbreaker beware. The Ancient Mariner awaits all who would dare to challenge the seabound might of the Darkbreaker's naval fleets.

For those worlds where a strong naval presence is required, the undying captain will sail forth once more, summoning ghostly ships of every era to set out at his side, a spectral armada unmatched in all of the worlds of the multiverse. Whatever ghost ship you may know of from your knowledge of myths and legends, you will find it there in the Dead Armada. World War battleships, ancient man o' wars, dreadnoughts, destroyers...all of them brought back from the grave for another glorious charge.

His main methods of offense, aside from using his flagship, the Dutchman, or his Armada, are the long, tattered bandages that trail from his frame, which he uses like the Darkbreaker's chains, in addition to his inhuman strength and the strange St. Elmo's Fire that will never stop burning, unless he wills it.

Captain Vanderdecken's only known vice is his old tobacco pipe, a deeply treasured relic from his days among the living. It has remained with him through thick and thin, and possesses the same preservative characteristics of his coat.

Aside from that, he will utterly kick your ass at Battleship.
