Let Me See Your Madness

In honor of the newest member of Division Omega, my good friend , I figured it was only fitting I take him up on the offer to complete the design for his personal OC, Hinamizawa.

...for those of you in the know, the name 'Hinamizawa' had better be setting off all kinds of warning bells. Because just like her namesake, this Hinamizawa is really quite insane.

Once one of that rare breed of youkai called satori, known for their ability to read the minds and hearts of anyone and everyone around them without restraint, Hinamizawa was normal...well as normal as a satori could get, anyway.

...and then one day, the world went mad.

Black lightning tore across a sky stained red, darkness spreading across the land.

And as the world descended into chaos, panic and fear setting in, unparalleled arcane might wreaking havoc throughout civilization, with no clear source or culprit behind it...anarchy descended.

A thousand grudges festering beneath the surface, bitter rivalries renewed, every faction thinking the other was to blame, war broke out, the flames of conflict and hatred eating away at the world.

And in the depths of the storm of emotion that had been unleashed by that cataclysm, the race of satori, bombarded by the lives and deaths and dreams and hopes and curses and rages and pains and suffering of an entire planet, went mad.

And through their mind reading abilities, the insanity spread, until there was not a single sane individual left on the planet, everything stained red by the haze of madness and rage.

Out of that terrible nightmare, an entire planet that had gone insane and turned on itself, only one survivor remained.

Hinamizawa.

Driven mad by the influx of emotion and insanity, she tore out her eyes, as if hoping that would finally make the pain stop.

...it did, but not in the way anyone would have expected.

Polluted by madness, they became her Heart Jewels, the physical manifestation of her mind's eye.

They orbit her now, seeing everything but Hinamizawa herself, artifacts powerful enough to smash the sanity of any normal human who comes into contact with them, instruments of her will, focusing her twisted mind into that of her prey, all in pursuit of further insanity.

Having left the chaos of her homeworld, Hinamizawa now seeks what she calls 'Ultimate Insanity', a madness great enough to destroy everything in existence, including herself. Even if the madness she unleashes results in her own death, she will die laughing, content in the knowledge that everything else in existence will follow soon.

...and now, she believes she has finally found that.

In the man called Alexander J. Darkbreaker, she has sensed something truly monstrous, the potential for something beyond any measure of insanity she has ever encountered before.

...and yet, this man, no matter what, WILL NOT BREAK.

She, who can break minds with but a look, could not touch him.

Not understanding this, and refusing to give up on her dream when it is so close, she pursues the Darkbreaker, seeking to do whatever she can to finally unleash that glorious madness at last!

...but as any Division Omega member can tell you...that 'madness' of the Darkbreaker has a name.

...and it is a madness beyond what even Hinamizawa may dream of, something that may devour even insanity itself.

For now, though, she simply wanders the world of Eternity's End, the dead end of the multiverse.

Both stalwart ally and vicious enemy at the same time, her motives are her own, and her reasoning entirely incomprehensible.

Friend?

Foe?

Neither term can be applied to the Heart of Madness, only the knowledge that she is sanely insane, and is just as likely to gut you as she is to kiss you.

So look out. For when the shadows begin to move, with eyes that glitter like bloody diamonds in the dark, and you hear her laugh...hope she's on one of her more pleasant moods.

Failing that, you'd best damn well hope you have increased regeneration, and a crapton of extra HP.
